When people say “my injury is industrial,” they mean work-related under workers’ compensation. Retirement boards usually say service-connected for the same idea. Non-industrial / nonservice-connected means not job-related (or the share that is not). Using the wrong system’s language on the wrong form confuses adjusters, doctors, and boards — and can cost benefits.
Quick map: Industrial ≈ Service-connected · Non-industrial ≈ Nonservice-connected · But WC PD% ≠ automatic SCD pension. Two systems, two decisions.
